THREE groups of military cadets came together for a dinner and awards ceremony for the first time.

Air cadets from 504 (West Nottingham) Squadron were joined by members of TS Orion from the Sea Cadet Corps and A Company Robin Hood Rifles from the Army Cadet Force.

It was the first time that 504 Squadron had held a tri-service dining-in night. It was at the Belgrave Rooms in Goldsmith Street on November 14.

Nine awards were handed out, including to Flying Officer Paul Garner, who was awarded a clasp for his Cadet Forces Medal, after 18 years of adult service within the cadets.

“Would have been nice to invite some of the original adults who saw the transformation from 209 D/F to 504 Squadron .”
