You would hardly guess from his youthful appearance, but Belfast-born singer and songwriter Andy White has been on the road for the best part of three decades.

Different albums have been mixed in Dublin, Canada, Italy and Melbourne, where he now lives.

His latest release features over a dozen previously recorded numbers, including a couple – Berlin 6am and Travelling Circus – from the last century.

Together, they bear witness to White's wide-ranging tastes in progressive folk, encompassing a partiality to the Waterboys and his writing partnership with Allison Russell, of Po' Girl.

A bonus disc called Stories comprises guitar-accompanied prose extracts and a poem written en route from Brisbane to Los Angeles. Sebastian White plays drums on the title song that rounds off the album.

As part of an imminent UK tour, Andy visits the Queen's Head in Belper on February 2 with his sister and sometime band member, Cathy.
