Bus driver charged with drink driving after trip to Alton Towers
A 43-year-old bus driver in charge of a trip to Alton Towers was charged on Saturday (November 3) for being over the drink-drive limit.
Police were called to Alton Towers at approximately 8.15pm on Saturday after concerns were raised about the behaviour of two coach drivers.
Officers arrested a 43-year-old man from Nottingham and a 65-year-old man from Derbyshire.
The 65-year-old was subsequently released without charge.

The 43-year-old was charged with being in charge of a motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit. He has been bailed to appear at North Staffs Mags, Fenton, S-o-T, on Tuesday, November 14.

“It's a good thing someone alerted the police before the driver was able to drive a bus full of passengers home. Who knows what could have happened. A lot of people are scared to report people doing something wrong, and see it as telling tales. That's for kids. Responsible people have a duty to get involved in situations such as this.”
