An inquest into the death was opened and adjourned on May 21 at Nottingham Coroner's Court.
An initial Home Office post mortem examination gave the interim cause of death as consistent with drowning, pending further tests. A final report on the death is still due.
In a statement, Notts Police said: "Police are working with other agencies, including the city council and the NHS, as part of the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
"Support is being provided to the family during this difficult time."
Ms Wood has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
