Broadway to screen UK premiere of Dirty Oil
THE Broadway cinema in Nottingham is to screen the UK premiere of environmental documentary Dirty Oil.
It is one of a number of cinemas across the country that will host a live broadcast via satellite from The Barbican Centre, London, at 6.30pm tonight.
The documentary is directed by Academy Award-winner Leslie Iwerks and illustrates the devastating impact that Albertan tar sands developments are having on the environment and First Nation communities.
It will be followed by a live discussion with Leslie Iwerks, George Poitras, a member of the First Nation community in Alberta, Colin Butfield, head of campaigns at the WWF and Paul Monaghan, head of social goals and sustainability at The Co-operative.
