Nottingham: Free storage containers to help people separate their recycling were being given away in Old Market Square today.
The containers were handed out by the city council on a first come, first served basis from 10am to 4pm.
Councillor Alan Clark, portfolio holder for energy and sustainability, said: "The journey recycling takes from your home to commercial reuse depends on the right things being put in the right bins.
"We know residents in Nottingham are keen recyclers, so it is disappointing that their efforts can be spoiled simply by the wrong things being put in the wrong bin. If you are in doubt, leave it out."
