STRELLEY'S Jason Booth says he is already in "great shape" ahead of his WBC International super-bantamweight title clash with Kid Galahad, in Rotherham, on February 18.

Booth has been sparring with old rival Rendall Munroe and also did eight rounds with Shepshed's Louis Norman.

Norman is trained by his father Shaun, a former flyweight, who retired with a 32-7-22-3 record.

"My weight is coming off easily and I feel sharp," said Booth. "I think the break has done me good. The lad is highly-rated, but he's only gone six rounds twice."

Promoter Mick Hennessy said. "With Kid Galahad headlining for the prestigious WBC International title, on Channel 5, in only his 11th fight, I believe he will show the boxing world why we have so much faith in him.

"There is great anticipation for Chris Eubank Jnr's second pro fight. He's a special and unique talent who brings a real buzz."

Alfreton light-welter Dale Miles defends his 12-fight unbeaten record on the sell-out Betfair Prizefighter light-welterweight tournament, at Wolverhampton Civic Hall, on Saturday.

Young Mutley, who used to fight out of Mike Shinfield's Alfreton stable, is also on the show.

Interest is building in Terry Maughan's vacant British Masters light-middleweight title fight with Newark's AA Lowe in Balderton on April 7.

But stable-mate, Barrington Brown, is suffering from sore knuckles ahead of his Midlands area super-featherweight title fight with Troy James, in Bedworth, on March 16.
