NOTTINGHAM Forest are understood to have agreed a deal with Billy Davies for him to return to manage the club for a second time.

Davies' long-time assistant Ned Kelly last night left his post as number two at Walsall, to be reunited with the man who twice took the Reds into the play-offs.

Post sources indicate that an agreement has now been reached for the Scotsman to take the helm at the City Ground for a second time, following negotiations yesterday, and an official announcement can be expected at any time.

It is understood that the squad, which includes the likes of Chris Cohen, Dexter Blackstock, Radi Majewski and Lewis McGugan who played under Davies previously, have already been informed of the appointment.

    “@ bah bah blounty
Are you that against Billy Davis the same Billy Davis that got your sad pathetic little club into the premier league the same Billy Davis that got you your only win back in the big time for your fantastic board to replace with Paul Jewell hahaha you deluded moron it wasn't Billy Davis that caused you the problems and get your club into debt it was Jewell paying wages of upto 50k plus for the likes Roy Carroll that got you into the sh@t you were in, Nigel clough bless his little red socks shed your wage bill by 7 million pounds in his first 2 season's that is truly amazing for a bloke who's got some bloody big shoes to fill in the mighty Brian Clough. so look back and think on when you take the pxxs out of Billy look what Jewell did”

“BLOUNTY3 We were going for NLN but he is stuck in a time warp, you know the one he has been in for the past 5 seasons just praying he can finish in the top 10 for once, that would also be a bonus for your owners as they are just ploding along singing a song, and not the slightest bit interested in what happens.

Plodders the every day story of Direby Clounty.”

“Blounty, I don't normally respond to the likes of you........but our little club has once again taken on the man you sacked. Wasn't he the man who took you up into the premier division? Then you sacked him for under-achieving, when it is well known that his teams do not start the season with a sprint. His team had gained 6 points from 14 games (W1, D3, L10). He was succeeded, trumpets blaring, by Paul Jewell who only took 5 points from the remaining 24 games (W0, D5, L19).

Preston then Forest gained from your knee-jerk reaction to the poor start. We were struggling on our return to the Championship, you sacked Billy and Forest took him on. Billy stabilised us during that half season and saved us from possible relegation. The next two seasons he took us to the play-offs. Billy does have a big mouth and a like a spoilt child, he tends to flap it to try and get his own way, but that is Billy. I only hope that he and Fawaz will work together, because we will then get back into the Premier division, and stay there. It is the fault of your board that you have the worst record in the Premier division, and our board for sacking him when all he wanted was a couple of stellar signings to get promotion. We would have got promotion had he been backed that second January, but I think the advice from Pleat and Co. was that he had a big mouth and he would want more money to compete at the highest level, so they got rid of him. If he had been backed we would now be in a reasonable position in the top division.

If, and I know it's a big if, Billy and Fawaz can tolerate each other, promotion is a strong possibility either this season or next. They will both have to give a little when times become a little testy, but if they can, our future looks bright.

As to Derby they seem to be doing ok under NLN and the flirt with relegation zone that I thought you might have had this season seems to be far enough away for you not to worry. Nigel is doing better than expected with the constraints he has had to work under. He is not his Dad, but he does not have a Peter Taylor to work with.

Anyway thanks once again to your board for sacking Billy and thanks to Fawaz for taking him on again.

    C'mon you Reds”

“Oh dear, it's official. Can't help thinking this is another disaster in the offing. A desperate attempt from Fawaz to appease SOME fans.

Anyway, time to get behind him now. I really hope i'm wrong...it's been too long since the Prem.”
