Your Big Day Out: Robin Hood Game & Country Show, October 16-17.
COUNTRY pursuit enthusiasts from all over the UK will descend on Newark tomorrow for one of the biggest dates in the calendar. The Newark and Notts Showground at Winthorpe will once again play host to the Robin Hood Game and Country Show on Saturday and Sunday – with a fun-filled family day out guaranteed.
With even more entertainment and stands than last year, there is something for everyone – whether you're a serious game enthusiast who enjoys the thrill of the countryside or simply on the lookout for a smashing day to spend with the family.

You'll be able to meet Robin Hood and friends as they'll be at the show all weekend interacting with the crowds – with sword demonstrations, story-telling and hilarious re-enactments.
If you love dogs, you're in luck as the event has its own dedicated Dog Zone for four-legged friends.
From bespoke doggy products to specialist doggy services, it's all going to be there. There will be various dog experts on site, so have a chat and find out how to get your dog to stop pulling on the lead or digging up the garden.
There's also have-a-go dog agility, dog scurry and fun dog shows.
New for 2010 is the Top Lodge Dancing Dog Display team, who wowed the crowds at Crufts this year.
Meanwhile, the Parachute Regiment will be bringing their 60 foot Paratower. Visitors can jump off and help to raise funds for the parachute regiment charities and the Afghanistan Trust.
One of the main events in the show arena will be the jousting displays by the Knights of the Damned.
Their entry into the arena to the tune of Queen's We Will Rock You as the crowds clap in time is, by all accounts, a memorable experience reminiscent of the Hollywood blockbuster A Knight's Tale.
Cheer for your favourite hero or boo the scary Black Knight – it's all genuine harmless fun.
You can also shop to your heart's content at various specialist country pursuit trade stands, including clothing, fishing, equine and shooting products.
Plus there'll be lots of other stuff on offer for all ages, including an inflatable fun zone, water zorbing, shooting and children's quad bikes.
And Pine Park Archery Club will be allowing the public to try archery with the aid of their qualified instructors.
Sandra Gibson, from Aztec Events, which organises the spectacular every year, says: "It's a truly rural event, with more than 200 trade stands, most of which specialise in country pursuits and clothing. We have lots of new attractions this year and the show will be even bigger on entertainment for all the family."
The event will be open from 10am to 5pm each day, with free parking. Tickets are £10 for adults and £3 for children on the gate. Find out more at www.robinhoodcountryshow.co.uk/01702 549622.
