A BESTWOOD farmer has been jailed after a large number of dead and decaying animals were found at his farm.

Trading standards officers found rotting carcasses of pigs, cows, poultry and a donkey on Keith Littlewood's land during a visit last June.

Other animals were found starving with no access to food or water, and were feeding off the carcasses of the dead animals.

Littlewood was jailed for 12 months today at Nottingham Crown Court.
