Ben Davies 'receives death threats' from Notts fans after Derby move
FORMER Notts County player Ben Davies says he has received death threats since leaving the club for Derby County.
The former Magpies star moved to Pride Park last week and made his debut for Derby in a 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest yesterday.

Speaking after the match about his move, Davies said: "I do not think the full truth has come out about it.
"I think the Notts fans are disappointed judging by the couple of death threats I have had this week, which is disappointing.
"The one thing I did do when I was at Notts was give absolutely everything I've got and I have always said it was the happiest I have been in my career.
"I'm disappointed because I loved being at Notts."
He said it was a "massive decision" to leave Notts County and that he had thought "long and hard" about signing for Derby.
He said: "It was a difficult decision for me, taking family and everything into account, and this is the decision I have made."
Notts Police has said it has had no reports from Mr Davies about having received death threats.
Davies handed in a transfer request at Meadow Lane before completing his move to Derby on Thursday after signing a two-and-a-half year contract.
Notts had been keen to retain the services of the 29-year-old midfielder, who has made himself a firm favourite with the Meadow Lane faithful.
Davies scored 20 goals in 67 league starts for the Magpies since signing on a free transfer in the summer of 2009.

“Tony Arnold - it's not my fault Davies left and it's not my fault you lost 1-0 at home to fellow strugglers Carlisle. Neither did I use the word 'despicable' - get your facts right, it was 'dislikeable'. The comment was removed so enough said. Good luck against Man City but you're going to get hammered.”

“If there is any evidence to substantiate the accusations of Forest fans taking part in this vile chant about a dead baby then where is it? I find it hard to believe a crowd would chant that, possibly a drunk idiot with an even drunker mate may have mentioned it,it looks like another propaganda excercise from the sheep tampering creatures to me...can any genuine Forest fan on here please confirm if this chant takes place?”

“Mark,Long Eaton
I agree totally about any comments towards Commons about his baby are absolutley abhorrent. I can honestly say I have not heard these being made anywhere near where I sit and rest assured if I did then I wuld mostly ceetainly say something to those who make such awful remarks.Calling him a Judas or a fat b****** is something completely different. I understand that Campy was subjected to some pretty over the top taunting yeterday about his father and his where abouts so as I said in my earlier post there are morons that follow all clubs
As for NLN yes I will always treasure the goals he scored for us ..pity he doesnt feel the same when coming out in the press and saying he'd swap all those goals for one Direby goal against us..”

“T, Yes, you must click 'like' on the Notts facebook page. Of course no opposing team's fans would be allowed to do that, the internet would automatically know they weren't Notts fans wouldn't it?
I think you will find that Forest fans post on Derby and Notts facebook sometimes and vice versa. Without tracing the user name and ip address, it is impossible to say that it was a Notts fan or someone posing as a Notts fan. The Evening Post perhaps should have been a little more accurate in it's reporting on that fact also.
Of course, it is entirely possible it was a Notts fan. No decent supporter would find that acceptable in any way.”

“i cant stand kommons for his treacherous defection to the sheep but its part of the game to leave clubs and sign for new ones, mocking and rejoicing over a dead baby has no place anywhere at all apart from maybe in an institution for the criminally insane, come on fellow reds,do what you can to cut that unpleasant chant out,its not acceptable and brands us all as a retarded inbred set of fans, like i say i cant stand kfc but if i met him i would feel duty bound to apologise on behalf of the idiots. nothing funny about it,its really quite sad”

“Hulk
Are you prepared to apologise for calling ALL Nott¿s Fans ¿Despicable¿, if not then JOG OFF.
You are right the death threats are illegal , but the NEP and anyone else should not make allegations unless they have unchallengeable evidence.
People do all sorts of malicious acts every day on the Web joining the Notts County facebook page or any other page means nothing.
Why has the NEP not published the story about someone pretending to be Ray Trew and making stupid comments about Derby County. The Derby Telegraph has the story. Why because it undermines this NEP story.”

“Mandy- 131 Forest goals will more than maintain "NLN" ledgendary status in my eyes.
In the fickle world of football now we would bite the hands off any striker who can contribute half that amount.
I to have little time for a Englishman who plays for Scotland and a self confessed Forest Fan who joins the Sheep purely for money and greed. That said chants about his family loss has no place in any sporting arena. Sadly over the last two years these chants are not just from a minority of young impressionable kids but from people who are older (likely to have lost friends and loved ones) and should generally no better!”

“Doghouse Pie - and others - the issue here is not whether Ben Davies is a liar or not - it's about receiving death threats which is obviously unpleasant and worrying but also illegal.
I'm not trying to take any moral high ground - but making threats on someone's life is a serious matter.
Even though Kris Commons left Forest for our biggest rivals, I would under no circumstances condone similar threats to him.
Passions do run high in football, but making death threats is going too far.”
