DAVID Beckham is not joining Notts County – yet!

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder is preparing for England's World Cup qualifier against Croatia at Wembley tomorrow night.

He is set to return to Europe in January after LA Galaxy's MLS campaign finishes to keep his World Cup hopes alive – and has been linked with a host of top clubs.

He could rejoin Italian giants AC Milan on loan.

"I've got plans," said Beckham.

"Milan have made it aware they want me to go back, play and train there, and I'm more than happy with that.

"But I have got other options. Three or four clubs have made offers already."

Asked if he would consider a move to Meadow Lane, he smiled: "No, not yet!

"I haven't spoken to Sven for a while."

“Beckham plays well when he is motivated. He's not the right fit for lower division football and there's no chance he'll ever come to Notts, I hope.”

“Whether or not it's true, Notts do not need Beckham, or Campbell for that matter. They have money to spend without a doubt, but they should still spend it on players who will get them promoted, not big names just for the sake of it.

Hughes was a good signing and he's the standard they should be aiming at. That's enough to get them promoted from League Two. Then add strength next season to get out of League One. Once they reach the CCC is when they should start spending big. That's when players will find Notts an exciting proposition and the added incentive of extra cash will tip the balance.

Players like Beckham in League Two or One would just get kicked off the park and probably end up with a broken leg dished out by some aging centre half who wants to make a name for himself.

The kind of money Notts now have access to is beyond their wildest dreams, but doesn't mean they should go mad with it. Spend wisely and you'll still get there.

I'm a lifelong Forest fan, but I still wish Notts all the best. Nothing would make me happier than to see Notts v Forest in the Prem. It could be a few years off, but why not?”

“Ian from Wollaton. Of course you are a Forest fan through and through, the evidence is there for all to see.
    - You can't spell
    - You use terms such as 'let go of ya dads dk'
    - You spend your time obsessing and posting about little old Notts County

Your mum must be so proud of you.”
