BEAVER Scouts have raised more than £200 for charity by taking part in a sponsored sleep-over.

For many of the six to eight-year-olds the sleepover at their base in Ravens Lodge, Ravenshead, was the first night they had spent away from home.

The 1st Larch Farm (St Peter's) Beaver Scout group raised £203 for the Libby Croome Happyness Foundation.

The foundation was set up in memory of Libby Croome, a pupil at Abbey Gates school in Ravenshead, who suffered from hereditary muscular sensory neuropathy disease and died at the age of four in 2007.

The foundation aims to bring a smile to the faces of disabled children who cannot get help from other organisations.
