A MAN has been given a suspended prison sentence after he broke a man's jaw with a single punch.

Benjamin Ajetunombi, 31, of Vernon Road, Basford, admitted causing grievous bodily harm to Callum Durcan, in Bulwell Lane, Old Basford, last August. He received a year's prison sentence, suspended for two years, and 150 hours of unpaid work. He had no previous convictions. Sentencing him at Nottingham Crown Court, Judge John Milmo said: "You hit Mr Durcan because he owed you money.

"He said he had no money on him to pay you and it ended up in a spat."

In mitigation, Richard Posner said: "It has come as a surprise to him the amount of damage he managed to cause with one punch."
