Bar news: Bad Juju Tiki Bar, Hockley
WHERE once there was Muse, now there is Juju.
Bad Juju.

Sign of the times Bad Juju
The Hockley bar formerly known as Muse has had a makeover, and calling that makeover "drastic" may be something of an understatement.
Previously a bar that sat nicely in the laid-back boho surrounds of Broad Street, the place has now been transformed into an establishment that is, to quote its website, "home to fine Tiki cocktails, a huge range of imported rums and sunshine sounds, all served up with a flavour of the Tropics".
Uh-huh.
This slice of Pacific kitsch in the shadow of the Broadway comes with a brightly coloured interior that's not shy on the grass thatching or the images of 60s film Elvis (that would be the era where every other Elvis film plonked him down on a beach somewhere). We've got bar staff clad in brightly-patterned Hawaiian shirts and pressed chinos. And of course, we've got more rum drinks and tropical standards than you can shake a bamboo pole at. They're got two different types of mai tais. Two! Whatever next?
