BREAKING: Two vehicle crash on Derby Road

Two cars have been involved in a serious accident on Derby Road in Nottingham.

Fire crews attended the scene just after 1pm and cut a motorist free from a black Vauxhall Astra.

A blue Ford Focus was also involved in the crash, and a parked Nissan Micra was damaged.

Derby Road was closed and diversions in place but the road re-opened shortly after the accident.

Gabriel Cooper, 24, who works as a nursery nurse in nearby St Joseph's School, heard the crash.

He said: "I was talking to a parent when I heard a loud bang.

"I thought 'oh my god, I hope everyone is ok'."
