CHRIS Kiwomya will be given the chance to earn the top job at Notts County permanently.

He has been put in caretaker charge of the Magpies after Keith Curle was sacked yesterday and will be in charge for their League One game at Stevenage tomorrow night.

He also looks set to be in the dug out when Notts face Crewe at Meadow Lane on Saturday.

Kiwomya only accepted the job on a temporary basis after speaking to Curle and getting his blessing.

He has been thrust into the hot seat at Meadow Lane, after joining the club as part of Curle's backroom team, coaching the development squad.

I'm very surprised," he said. "I came in as part of Keith's team, but changes have been made and Notts County pay my wages.

"They asked me to take over the reins for a short period and I've accepted.

"I spoke to Keith and he is pretty fine with it.

"He's a good guy and I wouldn't expect anything otherwise."

Asked if he wants the job permanently, he said: "We'll just take each game as it comes.

"It's a good club and there will be a lot of people in for the job.

"I just want to put all my efforts into the team winning the next match."

“It doesn't matter who is the manager now, they still have the same problem, our strikers are not good enough to put any pressure on league one defences. You have to score more goals than your opposition to win games, and so far this season that has not happened too many times.”

You seem very bitter in your slating of The Post.

And yet, you are incined to use its online platform to sling about your gratuitous condemnation.

    Shame on you!”

“Its was always only a matter of time before Keith Curle got found out. He's never been a credible number one.

Fair do's - he rode his luck, but his luck has run out.”

“With no managerial experience, I am afraid CK has no chance of getting the manager's job permanently. Hopefully he will stay in his current role however, when the new manager is appointed.”

“This is NOT breaking news! It was announced yesterday afternoon shortly after the departure of Curly. DON`T lead people into thinking your rag knows the news first.”
