A MAN has been arrested in connection with an assault in Beeston.

Police were called to Beeston Lock at about 8pm last night after reports that a man had been assaulted.

A force spokesman said the injured man had non life-threatening injuries.

An area around the lock was cordoned off for a number of hours while forensics investigated.

It has now been lifted.
