MAVER Barnsley won the Teams of 4 Silverfish League at Hallcroft.

They finished with 76 points, ahead of Worksop (78), Shiftworkers (92), Peg One (93), Six Am (94), Ultimate Anglers (97) and Bircotes AS (100).

Ben Holmes topped the 52-pegger with 20-15 of skimmer bream on pole and pellet.

Daz Oldham claimed second place with 17lbs of skimmer bream to 2lbs at Bridge outer 45. Wayne Spence and Danny Challinor helped Six AM Tackle to top spot on the day with 12-15 of skimmers on pole, pellet and maggot.

ANGLERS at Jansons again faced freezing temperatures and an ice-covered lake. Steve Draper won Saturday's Winter League with 58lb 1oz from peg 29. Liam Cooper caught a smaller stamp of fish for 57lb from the next peg.

Sunday's AT SuperCup saw an even harder battle to get fish to feed.

Will Sweeney helped New Inn to victory with 39-5 and they now join Long Eaton Fed, Barnstone and Nottm AA in the next round.

Fred Cooper took Tuesday's Gerry's Open with 49-5 from peg 30, fishing maggot tight over.

LOW water temperatures meant hard fishing for most in the latest Nottm AA 60+ and Disabled match on Strelley Pond.

Fred Hickling, on peg 15 on the wood side, did better than most with 6-4 of roach on 7m pole and pinkie.

Bob Walker, on peg 16 on the motorway bank, weighed 3-15 of decent roach on pole and breadpunch taken late on, after blanking on the feeder.

Paul Horner, on peg 13, caught 3-8 of roach on pole and maggot for third.

LAKEVIEW is planning to run a new £3,000 Open match, with a £5 one-off entry fee. It is £20 a match after that.

The 30-match series of qualifiers is due to start on April 10. The winners go through to the 30-peg final, to be spread over two lakes, on Sunday, August 15.

PETE Tatley has hit a hot streak at Little John Lakes with two wins and a second place in the last three matches.

He won a 14-pegger on Maid Marian with 29-7 and topped Saturday's Mapp Winter League fixture with 33-6.

With one match to go, Tatley trails Geoff Bennett (14pts) by two points. Ben Holmes is third with 19 points.

Holmes warmed up for Saturday's decider by winning Tuesday's Open with an impressive 77lbs of carp to 5lbs on the tip and hair-rigged corn at peg 25. Tatley was second with 33-10.
