PAUL Anderson wants to banish the regret of never making his Liverpool debut by meeting them in the Premiership with Nottingham Forest.

The winger (pictured) joined Forest on a three-year contract yesterday in a £250,000 move from the Premiership giants.

It was the third summer signing for Reds boss Billy Davies, following hot on the heels of strikers David McGoldrick and Dele Adebola.

Anderson is now a permanent fixture after a year on loan at the City Ground following a campaign at Swansea, where he won the League One title.

The 20-year-old, who made 28 Forest appearances last season, said: "Everyone's ambition is to play in the Premiership and play at the highest level.

"I think we are going to do that at this club.

"With the ambition I have seen and the players at this club there is no reason why we cannot be up there in the next couple of years. I would love to go back (to Liverpool) and show them what they missed out on.

"I am happy to be here and it is one of the best days of my career so far.

"Liverpool is always there (on my CV) but I never played for them so there is nothing to be proud of really.

"I am looking forward to the future, progressing with Forest and playing in the Premiership with Forest."

Swansea had a bid accepted by Liverpool earlier in the summer before boss Roberto Martinez left for Premiership Wigan.

And despite speaking to Martinez, he said Forest was always the club for him.

"From a personal view I always wanted to be back here," said Anderson.

"It is a great club and the ambition of the board is amazing with what they are trying to set out here with the gaffer in place.

"I think I fell in love with the club last year, how it is run, the fans. With the gaffer coming in, he is a great manager and a great coach and he is going to take me further as an individual.

"You can see he is looking forward to playing attacking football, which is key to me."

Anderson is unlikely to be the last summer signing, with Forest still in pursuit of Preston midfielder Paul McKenna.

Premiership Burnley and ambitious Cardiff have now joined the race for Doncaster defender Matt Mills, although the Reds are also keen on Blackpool's Shaun Barker as they look to strengthen their rearguard.

And manager Billy Davies still wants QPR goalkeeper Lee Camp, who had a successful loan spell at the City Ground last season.

“I heard that Aberdeen were interested in signing Rob Jones, Hibs Centre back but he will only consider a move back to an English club as he wants to get back nearer to his family etc.”

“peter, notts Not 100% on this but I think we lost 2-1 to Arsenal at Highbury. Bergamp scored the winner when the ball fell out of the sky and landed on his foot when he was laying down!”

“Lads, just read the article above,
Matt Mills is currently with Doncaster, Shaun Barker is at Blackpool & Rob Jones (the big tall lanky 29 year old) from Hibs where Brian Rice is the new assistant manager.
Any two out of these three would do; along with Gunter on loan, Camp, Blackstock & McKenna.
Apparently Dele Adbola was wearing No.9 in training today, is Tyson on his way? But he only just signed a new contract. I hope Earnie stays put.”

    “Good signing as is Mcgoldrick.
    Adebola is a poor signing.

You remember centre halves , full backs and goalies.!”
