Amos stays strong to retain his crown
Boxing: Clifton's Ryan Amos defended his OIBA super-middleweight title against Shaun White (Dinnington) at Dinnington's Lyric Theatre.
White went into the fight unbeaten in ten bouts and looked to take command in the early rounds but Amos kept coming forward and the pressure secured a points win.
Amos is in action again at the Forum Nightclub, in Nottingham, on April 14. He is set for a re-match with Gyorgy Zoltan, from Hungary.
Fellow Clifton boxer Kevin Weekes scored an impressive shut-out points win against Worksop's Gavin Straw to move his record to three wins and three losses.
But another Clifton fighter, Alex Taylor, lost on points on his debut to Gary Connelly (Sheffield).
Jan Hollingsworth, from Carlton, took a bout at 24-hours notice against Marcus Weston (Dinnington), losing on points. They will have a re-match at the Forum.
Canadian-born Brendan Urquhart, from Beeston, made it six wins out of six (with five knock-outs) following a quick stoppage of Luke Bullous (Chesterfield).
Urquhart has two fights scheduled for March in Leicester and Middlesbrough before a bout in April with former top amateur Anwar Fhema (Lincoln).
Three other Notts boxers made their debuts at Dinnington. Gamston heavyweight Andy Bowman dropped a points decision, Cory Hackman earned a draw and Kurtis Kelly won by KO.
The Forum event will feature an all-Notts light- welterweight Prizefighter tournament. Newark's Grant Duller will challenge Mizengo Sikombe (Sheffield) for the English heavyweight crown.
