Alfreton manager Law in appeal to the stay-away fans
ALFRETON Town boss Nicky Law wishes more local fans would come through the doors and support the team.
His side are now five games without defeat in the league and have won their last three home games, scoring 11 goals in the process.
"I do understand we are in an area which is not affluent and there is a lot of unemployment," said Law.
"But the players, the chairman and everyone in the club has given the town this level of football we are at and you do question sometimes whether the local community want it.

"You wonder if they deserve or warrant it maybe.
"It is a constant challenge, the chairman does everything he can.
"We never put ourselves at risk, even in the darkest moments, never taken a chance and thought stuff it, if it doesn't come off, it doesn't, we have always found another way to do things."
The 3-2 home win over Gateshead took Alfreton onto 48 points and possibly within one win of clinching their Blue Square Bet Premier Division status for a third successive season.
"It is a monumental achievement by everyone at the club," added Law.
"People just do not realise how hard it is for us, especially on such small gates."

“Maybe you should get the unemployed fans painting walls and doing extra maintenance on return for free tickets to games. A way of improving the ground with free labour for fans that cannot afford blue square prices”
