Texas-born Jarrod Dickenson cut his first album five years ago and has driven thousands of miles to perform his songs. Before settling in Brooklyn he spent time first in Nashville, then in Los Angeles, where The Lonesome Traveler was recorded. The album reveals Jarrod as a singer-songwriter in the Guy Clark mould, marrying thoughtful and moving lyrics to engrossing, even funky vocals. His guitaristic skills are complemented on this release by premier musicians like country oriented Greg Leisz on various instruments and the scintillating Sebastian Aymanns on drums.

Dickenson's 2013 tour brings him to Nottingham's Rescue Rooms on April 5. Be sure to arrive early, because he's opening for David Ford.
