Akinbiyi: I can make instant impact for Notts
ADE Akinbiyi is confident he can instantly hit the goals trail for Notts County.
The 35-year-old striker has scored a staggering 151 goals in his long career.
And he has almost always got off the mark quickly at his previous clubs.
He scored on his home debut for Gillingham in 1997 and he netted in his second game for Bristol City in 1998.
It took him four games to score for Wolves, Leicester City and Crystal Palace.
He scored after two games in his first spell at Burnley in 2005 and in his first game back at Turf Moor in January 2007, having rejoined the Clarets from Sheffield United where he netted on his debut.
Akinbiyi has agreed a contract until the end of the season at Meadow Lane, following his release by MLS side Houston Dynamo.
And he is contention to make his debut at Rotherham, after a full week's training with his new team-mates.
He said: "The quicker you score the better, it helps you settle in at a new club.
"I have scored a lot of goals in my career and that always gives me confidence.
"I want to help the team push up the league. If I can score a goal on my debut that would be great.
"But if I don't I will still work hard for the team."
Akinbiyi is unsure if he will play for the Magpies beyond this season.
He added: "It depends. If we do well and go up and I play the part I hope to in it, I will sit down with the people at the top. I'm not going to say yes, I'll see how it goes.
"I'm 35 now and your body can only take so much. Sometimes your brain is telling you to stop."

“The writer failed to indicate that he did not score AT ALL during his time with the Houston Dynamo, and disappointed many potential fans. Then again, maybe he will do much better with this new team. Good luck, Ade.”

“''The 35-year-old striker has scored a staggering 151 goals in his long career.''
Staggering only that in around 18 seasons he's only scored 151 goals averaging 8.4 a season and still clubs continue to pay out good money for him. If he's what Trembling and co. thik is the answer, what on earth is the question?”
