DOUBLE Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Adlington will officially open a swimming pool named after her next week.

The former Sherwood Baths, in Mansfield, where Adlington started swimming aged four, has had a £5m transformation.

Mansfield executive mayor Tony Egginton said: "I am delighted to welcome Becky to officially re-name the facility the Rebecca Adlington Swimming Centre.

"We are very proud of Becky, after her achievements at the Beijing Olympics in 2008."

Rebecca will unveil the new name at 12.30pm on Thursday, February 18.
