TWENTY-SIX drivers were caught speeding during a police crackdown in Hucknall last week.

All of the offenders were caught on the A611 bypass last Thursday and given a £60 fine and three penalty points.

Police were joined by partners from the Driving Vehicle Licensing Agency, the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency and Ashfield District Council.

During the operation, a 36-year-old female driver was arrested on suspicion of failing to provide a roadside breath test and assaulting a police officer. She was granted police bail until a date in August.

Six drivers were fined £60 for failing to belt up and one was fined for using a mobile phone while behind the wheel.

“i have been speeding since i passed my test over 20 years ago and im getting better at it.everyone says speed kills and have brainwashed us into believing it does ?60 miles in a 40?yet police can do 140 ?theres more police cars crash or get crashed by glory hunters?they ram you in their cars?which we pay for but to get to the point as i sleep in bed teres planes going overhead at 600 miles an hour when they crash nobody says speed was a factor because it needs it to stop in the air.well we the motorist need to get home or to work late for work money stopped and they say leave earlier then but you still get late because arsoles have narrowed the roads put tramlines on roads reduced the limit sorted out the trafic lights to delay you more (so you catch a bus)to give the council more money for their wages”

“Not on the 40mph section. The DVLA van was parked on the third section of the by-pass before Annesley Road and vehicles were pulled up in the lay-by just before the island.”

“Not sure about what your trying to say innram, ng. It obviously wasn't just a camera placed at the side of the road, it was actual officers and the DVLA. And does it matter if it was the 40mph section? Speeding is speeding no matter what the limit is or where it is. More fool to anyone who got caught i say, i am sure the officers were not hiding behind a bush, they would of been well visible.”
